On the night from Saturday to Sunday, 67 cases of theft and attempted theft from trucks were reported on the A1 highway in Germany. This was reported by Lopus.ru, citing a statement published by the press service of the Rotenburg police department (Bavaria) on the portal presseportal.de.
The crimes occurred at three different rest area parking lots along a 35-kilometer stretch between Bremen and Hamburg: at the Grundbergsee Süd and Ostetal Süd rest areas, as well as the Hatzte rest stop.
To steal the cargo, the perpetrators cut through the tarpaulin coverings. In one case, a refrigerated trailer was broken into. The stolen goods included clothing, containers of motor oil, office equipment, and software. According to police reports, the total damage amounts to several tens of thousands of euros.
Lopus.ru reminds that in the coming months, criminal activity targeting shipments from various manufacturers may increase again.
